Good Foods For Weight Loss – 5 Quick Tips for Choosing Good Foods For Weight Loss

The Right Combination
There are many good foods for weight loss but they must be used in the correct combinations for you to effectively lose weight.  Your muscles depend on protein to maintain a healthy body mass.  If not properly fueled your body will burn valuable lean muscle to provide energy instead of burning fat.  You need to intake a proper balance of proteins, carbohydrates and fats in order to achieve the trim healthy body you want to have.

Educate Yourself
Making the right choices isn’t really a difficult task once you learn exactly what are “good” choices.  The first example that comes to mind is carrots; most people think that eating carrots and celery sticks are an excellent choice of good foods for weight loss.  Wrong!  Sorry but those carrots actually turn into bad sugars when eaten by themselves (or with celery).  If you add a good protein like yogurt, tuna or grilled chicken breast with those carrots they now become a fundamental part in the fight against fat tissue in your body.

Making Good Choices
One of the keys in choosing good foods for weight loss is making sure you choose the right combinations.  You will want to stay away from “root” vegetables, things like beets, potatoes, parsnips, you know the things that are harvested from the ground.  These items generally have high glycemic loads, which cause the blood sugars to elevate, yes this does give the body a brief energy lift but unfortunately they also contribute to weight gain.

Eat More Protein
Protein is at the top of the list when it comes to good foods for weight loss.  The average person does not take in anywhere near the proper amount of protein that his or her body requires.  Most people only get about 40 to 60 grams when they should be getting 100 to 150 grams.  One trick is to combine protein with good carbohydrates; the two will then work together in the body to naturally burn its own fat.

Carbohydrates
Be careful when choosing your fruits and vegetables, as a rule of thumb it is advisable to avoid most fruits and vegetables with a white flesh.  Items like potatoes, pears, apples, bananas and most corn and flour products like breads and pasta.  I like to refer to these foods as trigger foods, most of which are low fiber foods that are easily eaten in large portions and will ultimately contribute to weight gain.

Coming from a family of 6 being the youngest, I grew up with overweight and obese parents and siblings‘, struggling with weight issues myself. Moving on with my life, my first son was diagnosed with ADHD. We tried six different drugs and nothing seemed to help.

At that point I began to research natural alternatives and by doing so I began to learn a lot of interesting information about the human body and its functionality.

Today after being in the health, nutrition and weight loss industry for eight years, I have learned that most issues including weight loss lead back to the body itself and proper nutrition.

Over the years I have seen so many theories, programs and bogus information that all ultimately lead to failure. I feel people deserve to know the truth! Just remember you can do it, you just have to put your mind to it!

Question by tinye: What is a good food for my overweight golden?
I have two Goldens. Both female. One is right at 67 lbs the other just over 80! I know, I know…not good. The bigger one is bossy to the smaller one over her getting near her bowl. Roxy, the bigger eats much faster and Maggie likes to munch. I have started taking their bowls up to keep Roxy from eating everything and taking them both for walks each day. I have been feeding them Beneful weight management. I have been reading on here that is not good to do. Feed them “diet” food that is. What is a good brand that I can feed both of my girls and how much should I be giving them? Should I feed them once or twice a day? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to walk them for about an hour a day. Also, Science Diet makes a Light dog food for dogs overweight. I’ve heard it works great. They sell it at most petstores.

Shell Oil Jobs Loss and the Impact on the Employees

Shell Oil Jobs Loss and the Impact on the Employees

With the current recession, it is hard to imagine how safe any one’s jobs can be. There have been several cases of redundancies in the United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Germany, China, India, Dubai and several developed and developing countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East and South America.

Within the oil & gas sector, most companies have been able to cope with the current times by reducing development of major capital intensive projects. It is possible there have been a few cases of lay offs of staff by some oil companies.

But the major news about Shell restructuring and reducing their workforce by thousands of employees came as a surprise but also a welcomed strategy by the new CEO. Shell’s headquarters for its global downstream operations – which covers non-exploration activities – will remain in London in the UK.

They will eventually include trading and alternative energy such as biofuels so it is unlikely that many jobs in London will go, but no one knows at this stage what exactly will happen in the future. Job cuts could be heaviest at Shell’s global head office in The Hague in the Netherlands, where a lot of people have worked over long period of times for Shell and have demonstrated a reasonable level of integrity based on the supposedly job security that Shell offered.

The new CEO of Shell, Mr. Voser said that the new structure will increase accountability in the company, and improve Shell’s performance on delivering new projects and developing new technologies. These changes will increase our focus, accelerate our plans to reduce complexity, corporate overheads and costs, and result in faster decision-making and delivery.

With this restructure, thousands will be unemployed. The management addresses the event as restructuring, but do they understand the impact of families of the laid off workers. There financial commitments, education of their children and the projects that they have embarked on. Companies have to realize the gravity of the impact, what were their strategies when they were expanding and hiring more workers. The current situation again is a blow to the economic condition.

With this loss of jobs, many Shell employees are unsure of what the future holds for them and might decide to start looking for oil jobs soon.

Other major oil companies like Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Total, Statoil, BP and ConocoPhillips will likely be searching for suitable Shell employees that they can absorb. However, job seekers who find themselves in a situation where jobs cut are planned should start posting their CVs on suitable oil jobsites, so that recruiters and employers can find them quickly and contact them for relevant jobs.

It is very imperative to be proactive about searching for oil jobs as with the recession their will likely be more people searching for these jobs at the same time as you, and its advisable to have a right frame of mind and be willing to consider other related positions, even if what one exactly wants doesn’t come by very quickly.

Hence, for all those finding themselves in this very hard times and wondering what to do – the best thing is to put yourself together and start making yourself ready and available for oil jobs available out there. The earlier you start, it’s always the better.

If you are a Shell employee and now considering a fresh search for oil jobs in order to retain your progression within the oil careers industry, you might want to visit Careers Oil Gas today.

Question by Grace D: Do you find it ironic that Shell Oil advertises on the global warming page at yahoo answers?
If this video “Cleaning the Air”: shell.com/us/realenergy isn’t enough to convince you that oil companies are loading us full of propaganda, then I am not sure what will. It’s painful, but try to watch it for the full 7 mins, you don’t want to miss the tear-jerking ending.

Natural gas is cleaner than gas or diesel, but unlike what they say-we are running out. We may have years but we are using it up at an alarming rate. Shell would be better off funding concentrating solar and nuclear.

A carboy bung, or stopper, is a hardened rubber plug that fits into the tapered closure of a carboy. Bungs come in various sizes and shapes, and are either solid or drilled, meaning they have a hole drilled through the middle of them for use with an airlock or blow off tube. They are easily jammed into the top of a carboy with a simple twist.
